  • Extensive & Pioneered work done by faculty of the Department: Stress, Personality, Mental Health and well being, Emotional & Social Intelligence, Intelligence, Spirituality and Family psychology, Delinquency, Yoga etc.

  • Apart from training the students in understanding basic principles of behavior the Department is striving for its applications in solving real emotional and social problems like underachievement, poverty, violence and crime and mental problems in the community. Department intends to establish a counseling center for solving various psychological problems of Students, Society and Community.

Course Structure: The course will be of one year duration and consist four theory courses and one practicum course. These courses are as given below :-

  • Course I, Paper I : Personnel Psychology.
  • Course I, Paper II : Organizational behaviour.
  • Course I, Paper III : Consumer psychology.
  • Course I, Paper IV : Organizational development.
  • Course I, Paper V : Practicum.

Admission: A candidate seeking admission to the one year PG Diploma in Industrial Psychology shall pass examination of any faculty recognized by SPPU. Preference will be given to the candidates who have passed degree examination offering psychology as a subject.

Duration: 1 year

Medium of instruction: English

Objectives of the course (Started in 2012)

  • It is basically a skill based course. Procedural (skill oriented) knowledge enhances Declarative knowledge, thereby, this course updates inertial potential quality of the students. Department of psychology plays an active role in running this course.
  • As this course is a career oriented, so it is purely applied course.

Best Practices of the Department-

  • Psychometric Evaluation And Counseling Department of Psychology is offering its best services in the form of counseling, guidance and psychotherapies by using various psychometric tests. Students were assessed both in the light of educational and clinical. For educational purpose certain educational test were used and for clinical purpose certain clinical test were used. Ability tests (intelligence tests), aptitude tests, interests, study habits and training, career decisions are measured by using educational tests. An attempt also made to measure religious and spiritual attitude to inculcate values and develop ones personality. Adjustment, personality through SWOT analysis, stress, anxiety, depression are measured by using clinical tests timely by the faculty of the department and various students therefore, were guided and counseled properly. Counseling on issues like Physical & Mental health, Career guidance, Awareness of laws, Family problems & adjustment & Study skills
  • Development of Intervention Modules of Psychotherapeutics Techniques Which can be used in Schools for Learning Disabilities.
  • Research Projects by Students with Interdisciplinary Approach Such as Health and Psychology, Industrial Application of Psychology, Sports and Psychology, Social Issues and Psychology, Education and Psychology.
